A tale of people in a far off land and another time.
In Search Of The Lost Tribes
The travellers return to find no sign of their families in their abandoned village. Even the great city is deserted. However, a scribe has left a note all must leave. There are details how, but not why, nor where the tribes will go.
The travellers rest a few days, then with heavy hearts begin their search, not knowing when or whether they will be reunited with their loved ones.
Over the years a dozen of the sixty searchers have been lost to accident, illness or bandits. Near to exhaustion, they set up camp. After so many false leads and dashed hopes, they must decide: Continue, or accept defeat. The following day, the few fittest set out with their calling horn for a last three day onward search. The rest plan in case they need new homes.
The elder seekers (as they became known) returned to the old country to study the deadly shining stones that forced the tribes' migration. Protected by discovery of a grey metal, all were taken by the new 'curators' and sealed in a great vault lined with the 'veiling' metal. Seeing their once lovely city, towns and villages in ruins took it's toll and they became known as the 'quiet ones'.
