I have a small confession to make. This tune remained un-named long after I'd completed it, so in desperation I grabbed a title from thin air. It seems to fit though, so it will stay!

Slinky
This piece is a rather laid-back style. It has especially heavy plate reverb used on the percussion. This in itself, is a bit more adventurous than my usual style.

A Day In The Country
This is a fun tune bringing back memories of summer picnics. Everyone is bright and lively at the begining but as the day goes on they become tired, and are quite happy to be taken home almost asleep.

The Man With The Hat
When this guy strides down the street everyone stops to watch. With his outlandish clothes, and swinging gait, he tips his hat to the ladies, smiles at the men and clicks his fingers at small boys and dogs.

Cinderella's Night At The Ball
The inspiration for this comes from when I was a lad and decided it was my job to escort the girl next door to her dance classes. From being just one of the kids, her outfit and poise transformed her to such loveliness I was bereft of speech, so I never had the courage to ask her out. I wonder if she remembers that dress.

Sleepy Hollow
This gentle dreamy tune was inspired by a visit to the Silent Pool in Surrey, England. The pool is noted for its crystal clear spring-fed waters and tranquil setting.

Steady Eddie
The lead guitarist in a 1960s rock band was very volatile. Usually the comment 'steady, Eddie' was enough if we got to him fast enough. He was always trying to get me playing 12 bars, but I was into other things. Years later I knocked this tune together and sprang it on him by surprise. 'It's a fucking 12 bar you bastard!' he yelled, at which point the rest of the group fell about laughing.

Sad Angel
I'm a little puzzled by this tune. I originally composed it in the middle 1990s but I really can't remember what inspired me to do so. This is unusual as events normally trigger my ideas. I have made a lot of quite small changes to it over time - always keeping the melody itself untouched - but somehow I am never completely happy with it.
